Who knew that STAR WARS would bring us so close together…
INTRODUCTION
I have already told in my previous article[1] how coffee is magic, a little bit about my trip and about the INTERESTELLAR MEETING with Ivan, whom I describe as a real #ChangeMaker, but those real ones that are told in books, those idyllic leaders that leave everything for causes that many consider lost, a visionary with common sense and a DREAMER with a lot of passion and love for what he does.
Last Saturday I received a message from my boss and I thought “Oh, my God, what the hell have I missed in research or in which field I have made a mistake, or surely he wants feedback and I also thought that maybe he wanted to congratulate me” — of course that is in the end because our MIND is like that — in any case Ivan is one of those bosses who congratulates… but when I opened the mail… I found the following message that I share with you.
MY IMPRESSION & REACTION:
3,2,1…Crying and smiling, yes I must admit I am a lot of laughs and also of those who cry when Mufasa dies in the Lion King and I was moved with joy because of course NEVER in life a boss — well I call my boss supreme leader — had had a gesture like that, I shared it with my roommates who are immigrants like me — but Romanian, I am Peruvian — and they told me that they thought it was great that there could be leaders like that with a spirit and vocation of service, but above all with EMPATHY! !!! That magic word that many of us forget, that old friend that we no longer like to talk to and that many avoid, especially in times like these.
MY SHORT LETTER OF RESPONSE:
Dear supreme leader,
I do not know if calling you that or calling you Master Yoda from today because you tell me I am your Jedi, then I am confused, as you know I am more of Space Troopers, but the important thing is that I want you to know that I feel every word of your letter, I feel your emotions in every sentence and I can only say “THANK YOU” because you took me in when you did not even know me well, just trusting what my Linkedin profile said and the CV in English that I sent you, which I know you haven’t read until today because as soon as I finished the coffee you were already offering me to be part of your Jedis team (not exactly legal) but of that really multidisciplinary and so charismatic team that as I always tell you is my home away from home.
You know my story better than anyone else in eID[1], our family, the one we love, value, care for and protect; I never thought I would find one of those bosses who was a true leader with a defined purpose like the ones mentioned by my friend Francisco Palao[2] or one who inspired me to be a better person like Simon Sinek[3] says and who is an “original thinker and a giver”, those mentioned by Adam Grant[4]; However, since I met you and you told me about the company, its beginnings in a GYM, in every coffee that we have together every two weeks at breakfast or lunch that you share with the team, I see that essence of a true CHANGE AGENT with which I identify and I promise you-you know that you have my word and I think that I can speak on behalf of all your Jedis-that I am with you, we are with you, you have my support and commitment, you can count on me to evangelize the purpose that we have, the dreams and objectives that we are achieving step by step — each time faster and on a larger scale — with the sole purpose of developing more humane, people-centered services that are created by a family with a DNA that you infect us with each one of your occurrences with all of the above and more… is that I tell you that you can count on me, I DO WANT TO BE YOUR PADAWAN for the time that we have to walk together, we will always be united by a friendship and the beautiful dreams that we share.
Thank you very much for giving added value to my role as a legal designer and futurist, for giving me such good companions, so diverse — literally we have all races — and so able to share, a hug and soon we will meet to continue thinking wonderful things in the pillars of education, services, democracy and freedom, for and to CHANGE THE WORLD, an ambitious dream, perhaps arduous but never IMPOSSIBLE for the eID team, that word does not exist.
